These General Terms and Conditions govern all lesson agreements.
For clarity and legal purposes, the German version is binding.
Please read the following terms carefully before enrollment.
General Terms and Conditions (GTC)
§1. Scope of Application
These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all teaching agreements between Reza Kordbach and the student.
By registering for lessons, the student—or, in the case of minors, their legal guardian—confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these GTC in full.
Any amendments or additions must be made in writing.
If individual provisions of these GTC are or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
§2. Lessons, Holidays and Public Holidays
Lessons do not take place on public holidays or during official school holidays in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).
Lesson-free periods do not result in a reduction of the agreed tuition fee.
The tuition fee is calculated as an annual fee and paid in equal monthly installments, regardless of the actual number of lessons in a given month.
This ensures a fair and transparent distribution of costs over the entire teaching year.
Lesson-free periods take into account recovery phases, lesson preparation, material acquisition, organizational effort, and—where applicable—travel expenses.
§3. Lesson Cancellation and Illness
In the case of contagious illness, students must refrain from attending lessons.
Lessons cancelled by the student are not rescheduled and remain fully chargeable.
In the case of prolonged illness supported by a medical certificate, tuition fees may be reduced proportionally after six consecutive weeks.
If lessons are cancelled due to illness of the teacher, tuition fees are waived from the third consecutive week onward.
If lessons are cancelled due to other professional obligations of the teacher (e.g. concerts or professional training), replacement lessons may be arranged by mutual agreement. There is no entitlement to a specific replacement date.
In cases of force majeure, pandemics, or official governmental orders, lessons will be conducted online where possible. Refunds are excluded in such cases.
§4. Lesson Models (Tariffs)
Lessons are offered within three different lesson models (tariffs).
The specific content, scope, conditions, and pricing of each tariff are agreed individually prior to the conclusion of the contract.
Prices are not published on the website and are communicated directly before enrollment.
§5. Trial Period
For the applicable subscription-based tariffs, a four-week paid trial period applies.
Only after completion of the trial period and mutual agreement does the contract become binding.
Withdrawal during the trial period is possible; however, payments already made are non-refundable.
The 10-lesson card is excluded from the trial period, as the full amount is payable in advance.
§6. Payment and Late Fees
Tuition fees are payable in advance according to the agreed lesson model.
In the event of late payment exceeding one week, a payment reminder will be issued free of charge.
After two weeks, a late fee may be charged.
In cases of repeated late payment, lessons may be temporarily suspended or the contract terminated.
§7. Annual Overview
Upon request, an annual overview of the lessons provided can be issued at the end of the calendar year.
If fewer than 36 lessons have been provided by the teacher within the year, a refund or credit for the difference will be granted.
§8. Supervision and Liability
The teacher’s duty of supervision is limited to the duration of the lesson itself.
Responsibility for travel to and from lessons lies with the student or, in the case of minors, their legal guardians.
The teacher assumes no liability for damages, losses, or accidents occurring before, during, or after lessons.
§9. Payment Default
In the event of repeated payment default, the teacher reserves the right to pause lessons or terminate the contract.
Statutory regulations regarding default and interest apply.
§10. Family Discount
For the second child or additional family members, a reduced tuition fee may apply.
This discount does not apply to online lessons.
§11. Siblings
Attendance of siblings during lessons is only permitted by prior agreement.
If siblings actively participate in the lesson, the regular tuition fee applies.
§12. Termination
Termination of the contract is possible four times per year:
28 February, 31 May, 31 August, and 30 November, each with a notice period of four weeks.
If termination is not submitted in due time, the contract is automatically extended by one additional quarter.
The teacher reserves the right to terminate the contract without notice in cases of repeated payment default, insufficient practice, or serious disruption of cooperation.
§13. Online Lessons
Online lessons are subject to the same conditions as in-person lessons.
The choice of digital platform lies with the teacher.
No liability is assumed for technical issues on the student’s side.
In the event of technical difficulties, a reasonable solution will be sought jointly.
§14. Liability Exclusion
The teacher assumes no liability for personal injury, property damage, or financial loss occurring during or outside lesson time.
§15. Jurisdiction
If the student is a registered merchant or legal entity, the place of jurisdiction is the teacher’s place of residence.
In all other cases, the statutory place of jurisdiction applies.
§16. Photo, Video and Audio Recordings
Any photo, video, or audio recordings during lessons—online or in person—are permitted only with the explicit prior consent of the teacher.
This also applies to recordings made using mobile devices.
§17. Data Protection
Personal data is processed exclusively for the purpose of fulfilling the teaching contract.
Data will not be passed on to third parties unless required by law or with explicit consent.
§18. Changes to the GTC
The teacher reserves the right to amend these GTC.
Students will be informed in writing of any changes.
If no objection is raised, the changes shall be deemed accepted.
§19. Contract Duration
The contract is concluded for an indefinite period and may be terminated in accordance with Section 12 of these GTC.
§20. Lesson Content in Case of Insufficient Preparation
If a student appears insufficiently prepared for a lesson, the teacher alone determines the lesson content (e.g. technique, theory, analysis, or revision).
There is no entitlement to repertoire performance by the teacher or to new material as compensation.
